For me, I feel closest to Thoth and Ma'at, as a writer and eager defender of truth and justice.

Tue, March 29, 2005 - 8:48 PMThoth and Anubis ring true for me, but Sett and Geb are close as well.
Horus owes me one. -

Re: Your favorite god(s)
Wed, March 30, 2005 - 5:36 PMBast is my matron/mother and Sekhmet is my protector, so I guess that makes them my favorites. But I also have a fondness for Anpu and Set.

Fri, April 15, 2005 - 11:09 PMMa'at called me to take care of some business for Her back in the mid-'80's, and I am still at Her service. I believe that Hers was and *is* the first Mystery learned by those who are called by the Gods of Kemet, and that those of us who are committed to the Old Gods *stilll* serve Her first & foremost.

Wed, January 25, 2006 - 6:40 PMThe deity I feel closest to is Sekhmet, killing and drinking the blood of humans until she had to be tricked into stopping when she got carried away and took the killing further than the gods meant it to be. -

Re: Your favorite god(s)
Wed, January 25, 2006 - 9:42 PMEver notice how similar Sekhmet and Kali are in temperament? I wonder if it's a coincidence, or if there was some kind cultural interaction between Egypt and the settlers of India. -

Re: Your favorite god(s)
Thu, January 26, 2006 - 1:28 PMMay be similiar in temperment, but the tradition and ideas surrounding them differ greatly. I am not overtly drawn to Kali, myself. Part of Sekhmets intrigue for me is her feline aspect. -

Re: Your favorite god(s)
Thu, January 26, 2006 - 2:24 PMHorus and Nepthys sit as God and Goddess on my altar. Otherwise I feel a strong affiliation with Anubis and Bast. -

Re: Your favorite god(s)
Thu, January 26, 2006 - 6:13 PMAnubis and Bastet are not part of my personal pantheon, but if I had to pick favorites outside my patron gods, I'd have to say they're high on the list.

Re: Your favorite god(s)
Thu, April 13, 2006 - 2:54 AMWell, given my profile name Djehuty(Tehuty/Thoth). Being a philosophy major, that was an obvious relation for me. Unas "the devourer of gods" has always held a deep facination with me (the writtings are just too archyptal). And then Kepera(Keper), because it comes the closest for me to the unmanifest universe (Brahman).
